TÜRKLERDE DİNİ MUSİKİ

It is seen that Turks attach importance to music in their social and cultural activities, by including it in entertainment and games, wars, religious ceremonies and important moments of their lives. Music, which is one of the basic elements of Turkish culture, whose formation and development process took place in Central Asia, has been kept in a wide field of application for religious and therapeutic purposes by the Kams, who are representatives of the ancient Turkish belief. Turks, who are known to have used music in religious ceremonies before Islam, integrated music into their rituals after accepting Islam. Within the scope of this study, religious music in Turks will be discussed. In this study, based on the basic idea of "beliefs and the place of music in these beliefs", the beliefs and music of the Turks will be emphasized within the scope of the historical process from twelve thousand years ago to 1299. This study consists of four parts; First, information will be given about the beliefs of the Turks, from the old belief in the Sky God to their meeting with Islam, then the place of music in these beliefs will be discussed, and in this context, information about the religious musical instruments and musicians of the Turks will be presented.
