“SHAJARAYI TURK” ASARIDAGI ETNONIMLARINING MA’NOVIY-MAVZUIY TASNIFI

This article analyzes ethnonyms (names of people, tribes, clans, and nations) in Turkic languages, particularly in Uzbek. The article discusses the etymology, origins, and scientific classification of ethnonyms. Ethnonyms have an ancient history and have undergone numerous changes throughout their development. The article also highlights that various myths and interpretations circulating among the people may hinder understanding the true meaning of ethnonyms. However, these views also have scientific value, as they are referenced in historical sources. The history of ethnonyms, ethnonyms based on anthroponyms, names based on place of residence, and names derived from occupation are explored through Abulghazi Bahadur Khan's “Shajare-yi Turk”. Ethnonyms have appeared in various forms depending on their social, professional, and ethnic conditions, and scientific research on them continues. Through the analysis of ethnonyms, the article reveals the value of national language and cultural history.
