Before the October Revolution, the growth and development of public education in Turkestan, as well as the level of public education, took place in difficult historical conditions. After the revolution organized by the Bolsheviks, the new educational policy in the region contributed to the solution of a number of issues that meet the principles of modernization of the education sector. As a result, the Kazakh intelligentsia, who worked in the government of the Republic of Turkestan, attached decisive importance to teaching in schools in their native language and sought to promote national culture in this direction. A special role in the development of culture and education of the Turkestan people was played by representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia of Tashkent, including Alash figures. Their educational work was clearly manifested in the opening of educational institutions. Higher and secondary educational institutions created in Tashkent made a great contribution to the development of the economy and cultural life of the Turkestan Territory and Kazakhstan.
