The Aral Sea region has suffered an environmental crisis over the past few decades, affecting the depletion of many natural resources. The Aral Sea was the third largest in the world, a body of water very rich in land and Water Resources. However, under the influence of anthropogenic consequences, it has become an environmental disaster zone. The Aral Sea is a region rich in natural, historical and cultural tourism potential. In recent years, successful practices of improving the social and economic situation of the region through the sustainable development of tourism in developed and developing countries around the world have been revealed. The development of rural tourism in settlements in the Aral Sea region will give a new impetus to the stabilization of the economy and social situation of the region. The article discusses the issues of sustainable development of rural tourism in the Aral Sea region through the analysis of international experience. The most important issues in the development of rural tourism are the preservation of local culture and traditions, the improvement of infrastructure and the effective use of financial support measures.
