The article deals with song folklore and the role of folk song traditions within the social and cultural life of the Gagauz people. The Gagauz, an ethnic group with a rich folklore heritage, have maintained dynamic interactions with various cultures and peoples throughout the centuries and have preserved the elements of ancient rituals and rites while serving as a medium for expressing sentiments, experiences, and moods. The study explores the primary functions of song folklore and symbolic elements.
