This article analyses the Gagauz musical culture as a part of the multicultural space of the Republic of Moldova. The historical roots of Gagauz music, its interaction with Moldovan, Ukrainian, Bulgarian and other ethno-cultural traditions, as well as the influence of Turkic and Orthodox heritage are considered. Special attention is paid to the modern forms of existence and development of Gagauz music, its role in the preservation of ethnic identity and the formation of intercultural dialogue. The study emphasises the importance of the Gagauz musical heritage in the context of cultural policy and national diversity in Moldova.
