Sustainable animal husbandry is an approach that aims to realize animal production by considering environmental, economic and social dimensions together. This concept expresses that animal husbandry activities are carried out by protecting natural resources, without harming the environment and considering social needs. Sustainable animal husbandry practices aim to both increase productivity and reduce environmental impacts. Sustainable animal husbandry is becoming an important issue in the Turkish World both economically and environmentally, as it has global importance. With the establishment of the Organization of Turkish States, the development of cooperation and strategies among the countries of the Turkish World is of critical importance in terms of ensuring sustainable animal husbandry. In this study, the current status of the animal husbandry sector, the difficulties they face and the sustainability strategies of the countries of the Turkish World are discussed. Bringing together elements such as education, local knowledge, state policies and international cooperation will increase the effectiveness of these strategies. In addition, the effects of factors such as climate change, traditional knowledge and economic development on sustainable animal husbandry are also examined.
