İdeolojik Edebiyat Kuramı Açısından Emine Işınsu’nun Tutsak Romanı

Throughout history, it can be said that literature has been shaped under the influence of different ideological movements. Terry Eagleton states that literature is a tool used to make ideological ideas acceptable. Ideological literary theory attempts to understand the social and political functions of literature. Emine Işınsu deals with historical, social and national themes in her works. In her novel Tutsak, themes such as the political and social structure of Turkey, social pressures, women's rights, nationalism and the search for freedom are dealt with through the lives of Ceren and Tarık. The novel examines in depth the issues of ideological conflicts, justice and moral corruption, captivity within the family, assimilation policies, sexuality and the view of women. The study emphasizes the power of literature to carry ideological messages and its contribution to social change processes.
