TÜRK DESTANLARINDA KARDEŞLİK METAFORU

Metaphors; It is used to reveal the elements that lie in the subconscious in order to determine the point of view and perception about any concept. Epics, on the other hand, contain many elements in their subtext, but generally come to the fore with their national characteristics and reflect the common consciousness of the nation and societies. In this study, the epics of the Turkic World are discussed by considering metaphorical perceptions. In this context, 95 epic texts belonging to Turkish tribes were analyzed and explained by forming the sample of the study, and the metaphors of the concepts of brotherhood and brotherhood were analyzed. The universe of the study consists of Altai, Azerbaijani, Bashkir, Chuvash, Gagauz, Khakas, Karachay-Malkar, Karakalpak, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Nogai, Uzbek, Shor, Tatar, Tyva, Turkmen and Uyghur tribes. Of the 95 epic texts belonging to these tribes, 88 epic texts containing the metaphor of brotherhood were the subject of examination as a sample. In this study, which aims to reveal the meanings identified in the epic texts that make up the sample and attributed to the brother and their metaphorical perceptions, the phenomenology method, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. Within the scope of the research, the data were collected through secondary sources, and the elements that were found meaningful and thought to contain metaphors were determined and presented with direct and indirect transfers in the findings section. In this context, a total of 154 metaphorical elements related to the concept of brotherhood were identified. Among these metaphors, the first place is the metaphor of the younger brother, which takes place in 26 different epics with various features. In the last place is the metaphor of the sister in 2 different epics.
