The first thing that defines a child in the world is the lullaby, a wonderful gift from the past. Lullabies have always had great importance in Turkish culture. Because lullabies for babies are not just singing, but also a secret, a magic that connects the baby to the whole world. From the moment a child is born, he/she starts to grow up with the lullabies hummed by his/her mother and begins to learn the culture of the society he/she belongs to. The baby, who falls asleep with the soft melodies sung by his/her mother, accumulates the words he/she hears in this process in his/her subconscious. As he/she gets older, this accumulation begins to form his/her cultural identity. In this context, lullabies are one of the oldest folklore genres that calm the baby and put him/her to sleep, as well as being the first stages of life in which the baby's social development, language skills, thought, sense of music and rhythm begin to be learned.
