Music has an important role in reflecting and transmitting cultural identity in Kazakhs. Kazakhs are seen to reflect music in social and cultural activities in entertainment, games, weddings, on the stage and at important moments of their lives. Although Kazakhs have lived a nomadic life for many years, it has been understood that they have reflected the richness of oral culture in their music, especially the messages they emphasize in folk songs, prominent themes, a symbolic reflection of their dances, as well as the way they compose melodies, Asian traditions have potentials that allow revealing common traces in their musical memories. Within the scope of this study conducted within the framework of this information, Kazakh musical culture will be discussed. Kazakh history and formation, as well as oral reflection of Kazakh musical culture, folk music and Kazakh folk music performers will focus on the music and culture of the Kazakhs. This study consists of five parts. In the study, information about the formation of Kazakhs and Kazakh history, Kazakh oral culture in a musical context, Kazakh folk music and folk music forms will be given first, and then Kazakh folk music performers will be discussed and information about Kazakh musical cultures, rituals, oral music, folk music performers will be presented.
