The article deals with the issues of traditionality and innovation in the Kyrgyz philology through the creative work of the great poet Alykul Osmonov. Traditionalism and innovation are closely related to the method of socialist realism. Kyrgyz literary scholars, in a number of their works, analyzed the tradition and innovation of A. Osmonov’s poetry and showed to what extent the poet absorbed examples of oral creativity into his works. The talented poet A. Osmonov, along with developing folk stories, managed to skillfully use their genre forms and create beautiful poems with new content. In Kyrgyz literary criticism, a number of writers addressed issues of tradition and innovation. Among them, the famous literary scholar and critic Kambaraly Bobulov expressed his opinion using the example of the work of a talented poet.
