This article examines the effect of radioactive elements on water sources. The ways in which radioactive waste enters aquatic ecosystems, the mechanisms of its distribution, and the main sources of pollution are analyzed. The effects of radioactive elements on living organisms, the quality of water resources and human health will also be comprehensively studied. Methods of protection of water sources from radiation pollution, including technologies of physical, chemical and biological purification, are considered. The article discusses ways to ensure environmental safety by providing measures to prevent radioactive contamination.
