Bread has a big place in Turkish nutrition culture. Turkish people, who see bread as the main nutrient, have also seen other foods as additives. He characterized the money he earned in order to make a living as bread money. Bread, which has a sacred place in human life, has been the subject of many beliefs and practices in the marriage process, which is one of the transition periods of life. New concepts have emerged depending on these beliefs and practices. In this study, first of all, similar beliefs and practices related to bread in the weddings of the Turkish world are included. After the similarities in beliefs and practices were revealed, “bread” was evaluated in its special and general meaning in the section on concepts related to bread in Turkish world weddings. The words that emerged in this context are given with their meanings and the region where the word is used. It was seen that bread was reflected in weddings as a symbol of fertility and goodwill during the marriage process, one of the most important periods of human life. In addition, it has been determined that the concept of bread has gained the meaning of “food feast” through meaning expansion.
