This study examines and analyzes the events called ziyrat (visitation), which take place on the eve of the religious holidays of Ramadan and Eid al-Adha in Karabük, from the perspective of social integration. These holidays, both in Turkey and in various Turkic states, begin with cemetery visits on the day before the holiday, known as arife. In Karabük, which constitutes the research universe of this study, holiday celebrations also start on arife day, during which cemetery visits and various other activities are carried out. As part of the study, a literature review on the subject was conducted first, followed by interviews with the people of Karabük regarding arife day ziyrat traditions as part of the field research. The literature review revealed that arife days are highly significant both in Turkey and in Turkic states, with the holiday essentially beginning on these days and people coming together to organize various activities. The field research found that arife days also hold special significance in Karabük, with people gathering and engaging in events that have historically contributed to fostering unity and solidarity in society and continue to do so today.
